Bush: Iran has Weeks, Not Months, to Respond to Nuclear Proposal

President Bush says there will be U.N. Security Council action against Iran, if the country does not stop enriching uranium.  The U.N. nuclear agency says Iran this week launched a new round of uranium enrichment, as it received details of a new diplomatic effort to end the standoff.

President Bush says the government in Tehran has weeks, not months, to respond to the latest proposal by the United States and its European allies.

By offering to meet with Iran if it agrees to suspend uranium enrichment, President Bush says the move represents a shift in U.S. tactics, not in strategy.

Iran has previously said it will verifiably suspend enriching uranium. President Bush says it is time now to see whether the government in Tehran means it.

"If they choose not to suspend verifiably, there must be a consequence," said Mr. Bush.  "There must be a sense of urgency on our part to send a common message to them."

The president spoke following talks with Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen. The prime minister said he is pleased that Washington has joined European allies in presenting a unified package of proposals to Tehran.

"It's now up to the Iranians to take advantage of this window of opportunity," said Mr. Rasmussen.

During Friday prayers in Tehran a leading hard-line cleric said the country should continue enriching uranium. Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said the U.S.-European package of incentives is, in his words, "good for them," but not for Iran.

Details of those incentives are still sketchy, but are thought to include support for Iran joining the World Trade Organization, help in building a nuclear power plant, and the suspension of some U.S. trade sanctions that prevent Iran from buying spare parts for an aging fleet of American-made aircraft.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) says Iran launched a new round of uranium enrichment this week. President Bush says Iran is secretly developing a nuclear weapons program. Tehran says it is enriching uranium only for the peaceful civilian purpose of generating electricity.

"Someone" say something?...well, anyway...

AP | June 9 2006

WASHINGTON - The death of al-Qaida leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Iraq came as more Americans than ever thought the war in Iraq was a mistake, according to AP-Ipsos polling.

The poll, taken Monday through Wednesday before news broke that U.S. forces had killed al-Zarqawi, found that 59 percent of adults say the United States made a mistake in going to war in Iraq — the highest level yet in AP-Ipsos polling.

Approval of President Bush's handling of Iraq dipped to 33 percent, a new low. His overall job approval was 35 percent, statistically within range of his low of 33 percent last month. The poll of 1,003 adults has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Among other findings:

_More than half, 54 percent, said it's unlikely that a stable, democratic government will be established in Iraq, a new high in AP-Ipsos polling. The survey was completed before Iraq's parliament approved three key new government ministers. Just 67 percent of Republicans, 63 percent of conservatives, and 57 percent of white evangelicals believed a stable, democratic government is likely.

_Only 68 percent of Republicans, 57 percent of white evangelicals and 51 percent of self-described conservatives — key groups in Bush's base of support — approved of his handling of Iraq. Those most likely to disapprove are Democrats (89 percent), women (70 percent), minorities (84 percent), city dwellers (72 percent), those with household incomes under $25,000 (71 percent), and unmarried men (70 percent).

_Those most likely to believe the war in Iraq was a mistake are Democrats (84 percent), women (63 percent), especially suburban women (67 percent), minorities (76 percent), city dwellers (66 percent), self-described liberals (82 percent), moderates (64 percent), and Catholics (62 percent).

Bilderberg Mafia Comes Under Scrutiny Of Canadian Media
How long before kingmakers forced to retreat to secret island?

Paul Joseph Watson/Prison Planet.com | June 9 2006

The Canadian media has already blitzed its American counterparts by producing a rash of reports about the secretive Bilderberg Group meeting in Ottawa as the conference enters its second day.

In 2002 Bilderberg met in Virginia Washington yet not one American newspaper or TV station reported on a confab which is routinely attended by the most influential politicos in the world.

That trend has totally reversed this time around, with the Canadian media already pumping out more reports than we saw for the entire duration of last year's conference in Germany. These include several pieces by the Ottawa Citizen, as well as the Globe and Mail and the Ottawa Sun. A Canadian Press article has also been syndicated to numerous different outlets nationwide.

A handful of separate reports also covered the grueling 15 hour detainment of Alex Jones by Canadian immigration authorities at the request of Bilderberg security.

The Canadian media should be commended for doing their job - putting the lapdog American media to shame - and shining a spotlight on an organization that steers the course of geopolitics yet operates with no democratic oversight whatsoever.

If this sea change continues at next year's meeting, how long before the skulking kingpins of the global criminal elite are forced to cut their shadowy deals on a remote private island?

The 2006 Bilderberg participant list is out and it includes names such as, "New York Governor George Pataki, deputy prime minister of Iraq Ahmad Chalabi, the heads of Coca-Cola, Credit Suisse, the Royal Bank of Canada, a number of media moguls, and cabinet ministers from Spain and Greece."

Regulars David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger and Queen Beatrix of Holland are also in attendance as well as, "Jorma Ollila, chairman of Royal Dutch Shell, Egil Myklebust, chairman of Scandinavian Airlines, World Bank president James Wolfenson, and Frank McKenna, former New Brunswick premier and ex-Canadian ambassador to the U.S."

The Ottawa Sun is even running a poll asking readers what they think the main topic of discussion will be at Bilderberg this year, with a majority of 34% thinking it will be oil prices and 25% the war on terror. It also quotes Alex Jones and discusses his ordeal with Canadian immigration.

"These guys love secrecy -- 125 of the most elite people on the planet meeting together and setting policy," Jones said. "It's diabolical -- world government, global taxation. On the agenda here, they're debating (an impending) attack on Iran."

Following his arrival in one of the fleet of limousines tagged with a 'B' for identification, The Ottawa Citizen approached arch Neo-Con warmonger Richard Perle and challenged him on the question of whether Bilderberg directs the course of world policy, specifically in relation to oil prices considering the large amount of representatives from the industry who attend.

"If it did, I'd be trading on oil futures," snapped Perle.

The fact is that during last year's conference in Rottach-Egern, Bilderberg luminaries 'forecasted' the dramatic rise in oil prices. A year ago oil stood at $40 a barrel - now it's $70.

The BBC also uncovered Bilderberg documents dating back to the 1950's showing that the subsequent EU common market and the Euro was originally the brainchild of Bilderberg.

Perle told former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien that he would be embarrassed when weapons of mass destruction were found after chastising him for not sending troops into Iraq in 2003.

A separate Ottawa Sun report carries an intriguing story of a daring reporter's attempt to infiltrate the Bilderberg's hotel, which has been closed to ordinary members of the public and is protected by both police and private security firm Globe Risk.

Ottawa cops even have to identify themselves to Globe Risk officials before being allowed near the hotel. What does that tell you about how Bilderberg place their authority above the law to which the rest of us are subject?

Another firm, Iron Horse Security are employed to guard the rear entrance of the hotel and look like they've just arrived from a funeral, having been ordered to buy black suits for the occasion.

Alex Jones and team are now in place and ready to dig deeper into what the Bilderberg agenda is shaping up to be in the coming year.

More reports to follow throughout the weekend.

Fear of Big Battle Panics Iraqi City

By Megan K. Stack and Louise Roug, Times Staff Writers
June 11, 2006

BAGHDAD — Fears of an imminent offensive by the U.S. troops massed around the insurgent stronghold of Ramadi intensified Saturday, with residents pouring out of the city to escape what they describe as a mounting humanitarian crisis.

The image pieced together from interviews with tribal leaders and fleeing families in recent weeks is one of a desperate population of 400,000 people trapped in the crossfire between insurgents and U.S. forces. Food and medical supplies are running low, prices for gas have soared because of shortages and municipal services have ground to a stop.

U.S. and Iraqi forces had cordoned off the city by Saturday, residents and Iraqi officials said. Airstrikes on several residential areas picked up, and troops took to the streets with loudspeakers to warn civilians of a fierce impending attack, Ramadi police Capt. Tahseen Dulaimi said.

U.S. military officials refused to confirm or deny reports that a Ramadi offensive was underway.

Thousands of families remain trapped in the city, those who have fled say. Many can't afford to leave or lack transportation, whereas other families have decided to wait for their children to finish final examinations at school before escaping.

"The situation is catastrophic. No services, no electricity, no water," said Sheik Fassal Gaood, the former governor of Al Anbar province, whose capital is Ramadi.

"People in Ramadi are caught between two plagues: the vicious, armed insurgents and the American and Iraqi troops."

Residents have been particularly unnerved by the recent arrival of 1,500 U.S. troops sent to reinforce the forces already stationed at the city. Street battles between troops and insurgents have been raging for months, but the troops' deployment left residents bracing for a mass offensive to take the town back from insurgents.

"It is becoming hell up there," said Mohammed Fahdawi, a 42-year-old contractor who packed up his four children and fled to Baghdad two weeks ago. "It is unbelievable: The Americans seem to have brought all of their troops to Ramadi."

The fearful city is haunted by memories of the battles that raged in nearby Fallouja in 2004. Determined to purge that city of insurgents, U.S. Marine and Army units lined up to the north and pushed south through the heart of Fallouja. They cleared one neighborhood after another in intense, constant street fighting. By the time the sweep was over, the town was largely destroyed.

Military officials have insisted that the deployment of the additional troops did not presage a Fallouja-style offensive.

"Moving this force will allow tribal leaders and government officials to go about the very difficult task of taking back their towns from the criminal elements," said Army Maj. J. Todd Breasseale, a U.S. military spokesman in Baghdad.

A sprawling agricultural and smuggling hub on the banks of the Euphrates, Ramadi has long been one of the U.S. military's stickiest problems. The largest city in Sunni-dominated Al Anbar province, Ramadi has degenerated into a haven for insurgents. Even now, when U.S. forces are working to scale back their presence throughout Iraq, daily combat continues to roil the city.

The death last week of Jordanian-born terrorist leader Abu Musab Zarqawi may have dealt a psychological blow to the Iraq insurgency. But it is not expected to dent the destabilizing power of anti-American guerrillas in Al Anbar.

The U.S. military said that, based on the number of fighters killed or captured by American troops, more foreign fighters crossed into Iraq in May than the previous month. At least 64 foreign guerrillas were killed or caught by U.S. troops last month; most of them made their way through Al Anbar province.

"In general, Anbar is controlled by terrorist groups," said Sheik Yaseen Gaood, deputy minister of the Interior overseeing the western provinces. "The Anbar government has no authority. The ministries of Interior and Defense have no influence there."

The U.S. military was bracing for an increase in attacks on civilians and American and Iraqi forces in the wake of Zarqawi's death, said Col. John L. Gronski, the commander of the Pennsylvania National Guard's 2nd Brigade, in charge of security in Ramadi.

"They go where we are not and they carry out very brutal attacks," Gronski said.

The governor of Al Anbar recently asked the U.S. military for help in taming the foreign fighters, Army Maj. Gen. William B. Caldwell IV, the chief military spokesman in Iraq, said Saturday.

"We are doing very focused efforts," said Caldwell, who refused to elaborate.

Elder,

Your getting a little touchy. Not taking your medication again?

Yes, that was intended to be insulting. You talk about how people will be banned if they harrass members or post inappropriate comments, but I guess you get to dish it, but not take it.

Notanidiot, I think that the Elder's remark was symbolic.

Regarding the moderation, be sure that I'll be the first to put people out of this forum if their behavior follow a debunking path. Remember this : a large part of the humanity will be soon destroyed. I intend to keep only open-minded people here, the ones able to stay alive. So, a matter of moderation is a small matter to me. If you are not happy, please you can go out. I say this not for you only. IT IS NOT PERSONAL. I know some people here who are concerned. I have not time to answer to skeptics. I know them by heart ! My book destroy their arguments. For exemple. Just simple questions : what is an evidence ? For who ? Who says what is an evidence ?
