Let's all remember that for about 20 years, government experts and government-funded scientists assured us that Global Warming was just a fantasy of the looney leftist environmental tree huggers. We don't hear much from them anymore. But, be sure to read the appendix to this story at the bottom of the page. There's much more going on then just gas-guzzling SUVs.

Study says Earth's temp at 400-year high

The Earth is the hottest it has been in at least 400 years, probably even longer. The National Academy of Sciences, reaching that conclusion in a broad review of scientific work requested by Congress, reported Thursday that the "recent warmth is unprecedented for at least the last 400 years and potentially the last several millennia."
A panel of top climate scientists told lawmakers that the Earth is heating up and that "human activities are responsible for much of the recent warming." Their 155-page report said average global surface temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere rose about 1 degree during the 20th century.
This is shown in boreholes, retreating glaciers and other evidence found in nature, said Gerald North, a geosciences professor at Texas A&M University who chaired the academy's panel.
The report was requested in November by the chairman of the House Science Committee, Rep. Sherwood Boehlert (news, bio, voting record), R-N.Y., to address naysayers who question whether global warming is a major threat.
Last year, when the House Energy and Commerce Committee chairman, Rep. Joe Barton (news, bio, voting record), R-Texas, launched an investigation of three climate scientists, Boehlert said Barton should try to learn from scientists, not intimidate them.
Boehlert said Thursday the report shows the value of having scientists advise Congress.
"There is nothing in this report that should raise any doubts about the broad scientific consensus on global climate change," he said.
Other new research Thursday showed that global warming produced about half of the extra hurricane-fueled warmth in the North Atlantic in 2005, and natural cycles were a minor factor, according to Kevin Trenberth and Dennis Shea of the Commerce Department's National Center for Atmospheric Research. Their study is being published by the American Geophysical Union.
The Bush administration has maintained that the threat is not severe enough to warrant new pollution controls that the White House says would have cost 5 million Americans their jobs.
Climate scientists Michael Mann, Raymond Bradley and Malcolm Hughes had concluded the Northern Hemisphere was the warmest it has been in 2,000 years. Their research was known as the "hockey-stick" graphic because it compared the sharp curve of the hockey blade to the recent uptick in temperatures and the stick's long shaft to centuries of previous climate stability.
The National Academy scientists concluded that the Mann-Bradley-Hughes research from the late 1990s was "likely" to be true, said John "Mike" Wallace, an atmospheric sciences professor at the University of Washington and a panel member. The conclusions from the '90s research "are very close to being right" and are supported by even more recent data, Wallace said.
The panel looked at how other scientists reconstructed the Earth's temperatures going back thousands of years, before there was data from modern scientific instruments. For all but the most recent 150 years, the academy scientists relied on "proxy" evidence from tree rings, corals, glaciers and ice cores, cave deposits, ocean and lake sediments, boreholes and other sources. They also examined indirect records such as paintings of glaciers in the Alps.
Combining that information gave the panel "a high level of confidence that the last few decades of the 20th century were warmer than any comparable period in the last 400 years," the academy said.
Overall, the panel agreed that the warming in the last few decades of the 20th century was unprecedented over the last 1,000 years, though relatively warm conditions persisted around the year 1000, followed by a "Little Ice Age" from about 1500 to 1850.
The scientists said they had less confidence in the evidence of temperatures before 1600. But they considered it reliable enough to conclude there were sharp spikes in carbon dioxide and methane, the two major "greenhouse" gases blamed for trapping heat in the atmosphere, beginning in the 20th century, after remaining fairly level for 12,000 years.
Between 1 A.D. and 1850, volcanic eruptions and solar fluctuations were the main causes of changes in greenhouse gas levels. But those temperature changes "were much less pronounced than the warming due to greenhouse gas" levels by pollution since the mid-19th century, it said.
The National Academy of Sciences is a private organization chartered by Congress to advise the government of scientific matters.
Now, before everyone stampedes into the Global Warming gloom-and-doom, we've-done-this-to-ourselves camp, consider the information below. The entire solar system is experiences dramatic changes. This is a solar system-wide phenomenon. Is it merely nature's cycles or is this evidence that the 10th planet (Nibiru) is beginning to enter our solar system?

We all know that the Earth is experiencing global warming and other changes, whether the petroleum giants like it or not. Just read the headlines.
What we may NOT know is the following:
SUN: The Sun's magnetic field is over 230 percent stronger now than it was at the beginning of the 1900s, and its overall energetic activity has sizably increased, creating a frenzy of activity that continues to embarrass NASA's official predictions.
VENUS: Venus is now glowing in the dark, as is Jupiter's moon Io.
EARTH: In the last 30 years, Earth's icecaps have thinned out by as much as 40 percent. Quite inexplicably, just since 1997 the structure of the Earth has shifted from being slightly more egg-shaped, or elongated at the poles, to more pumpkin-shaped, or flattened at the poles. MARS: The icecaps of Mars noticeably melted just within one year, causing 50-percent changes in surface features. Atmospheric density had risen by 200 percent above previous observations as of 1997.
JUPITER: Jupiter has become so highly energized that it is now surrounded by a visibly glowing donut tube of energy in the path of the moon Io. The size of Jupiter's magnetic field has more than doubled since 1992.
SATURN: Saturn's polar regions have been noticeably brightening, and its magnetic field strength increasing.
URANUS: According to NASA's Voyager II space probe, Uranus and Neptune both appear to have had recent magnetic pole shifts – 60 degrees for Uranus and 50 for Neptune.
NEPTUNE: Neptune has become 40 percent brighter in infrared since 1996, and is fully 100-percent brighter in certain areas. Also, Neptune's moon Triton has had a "very large percentage increase" in atmospheric pressure and temperature, comparable to a 22-degree Fahrenheit increase on Earth.
PLUTO: As of September 2002, Pluto has experienced a 300-percent increase in its atmospheric pressure in the last 14 years, while also becoming noticeably darker in color.

Thanks payne. Very interesting stuff, especially with respect to
the happenings on the various planets in our solar system. From
what I've read and researched, all of the planets in our solar system are inhabited, but this habitation reportedly occurs for the most part on other dimensional levels. Perhaps it is activity at these other dimensional realms that is triggering some of the changes we are now observing in our dimension? The glowing planetary bodies are particularly intriguing . . . radioactivity? Just speculation on my part.
Those with the best information are most likely to succeed. |

Excellent post!
We are nearing the more dense part of the part of the galactic plane. Everything is heating up.
Global warming by polluting petro-chemicals/hydrocarbons emissions is not exclusively responsible (my contribution to put an end to this will be linked below).
The idea of spraying chemtrails is not helping either. They may be telling us that they reflect the sun's rays back out, but I believe they are holding heat, from our core, in. The Earth's core is heating up, like all the celestial bodies in the vicinity, like record massive coronal ejections lately.
It is true that we are responsible for much, collectively.
I've been looking for alternatives to help clean the air of pollution. There is electric pollution too. I've had the Range Guide EcoChallenge for several years, praising and promoting inventors that offer solutions to our problems. Its quite frustrating to see big corporations, that want to keep their monopolies, come after these brilliant people, and cripple their endeavors.
You may know that we could run all engines on water, RIGHT NOW. The technology exists, but it will not be allowed now. Some of the reasoning for this is because the present infrastructure exits on the monopolies in place, and disrupting them puts many people out of work. I don't want to change the subject in this thread, but this ties in with global warming and our responsibilities.
As I said, I've been working on things to contribute to clean air, and helping our Earth. Lately, I've gotten involved with a small company that has a product that has been tested and used for decades. And now that we face gas prices of 3-4 dollars a gallon, there is a public interest in this technology.
